Estefania Puerta is an artist and writer currently based in New Haven, CT. Her work insists upon building up and tearing away materials and traversing different mediums in order to create connections that go beyond conventions of any one genre. She is interested in material translations and what gets lost and gained when a boundary (a border) is crossed and the poetics of a form taking on many different representations at once.
Puerta received her BS at the University of Vermont and just recently graduated with an MFA in Painting and Printmaking at the Yale School of Art. She was born in Colombia, raised in Boston, and has lived on and off in Vermont for the past 10 years.
