"When I signed up I thought it was going to be just another art camp but it wasn't even close....it was more than an art camp. It showed me a world of art I wouldn't have ever seen if I hadn't signed up. The people that run it aren't there just to be there...they are there to give you the experience of a life time and that's what they did. If I could go there a second year I would. I would highly recommend it to any artist who is shy and just wants to be around true artists their age. I was the girl who hid in the art room at lunch because I didn't have many freinds and all I wanted to do was art. GIA makes you turn into a confident artist who will make something worth everyone's attention.
I took the stone carving class and the print making class. In the slate carving class I learned how to do reliefs and letter carving. That class inspired me to reach out to my local carving studio when I returned home to keep carving because I knew if I stopped, I would regret it. The carving class helped show me there is another world besides 2D art. That class has inspired me to start using other mediums."
