"You should go to GIA because of how life changing the experience is. For two weeks you're enriched in the arts from gifted teachers and in the end you create something so unique and awesome. You get to meet all the teachers and RA's and get to know them really well. Then not to mention the other students their who help make the community you all develop so amazing. Everyone who is at GIA wants to be there and the attitude is always positive. In the end everyone becomes a family. Because everyone there is so passionate about the arts, it's not hard at all to meet new people. I decided to apply because I love the arts and theater especially. When I first got there I was nervous. I had a lot of luggage and it was the first time I was alone in a new surrounding not knowing anyone. Once we met our suite mates and RA I began to relax. My experience at GIA was one of a kind. Not only was I able to step out of my comfort zone and pursue over 15 Characters in Character Lab, and get into the minds of the audience with a performance that was pieced together by different writing prompts from each student in Experimental Story Telling, I was able to express myself. I learned that the most creative and amazing things are done when you express yourself. Thanks to GIA, I am able to thrive more in my school community as well as my home community. You form friendships that last a long time and get this unique experience that will stay with you forever. Below is a photo of my RA Matt, and I taking a selfie in the suite."
