Braden DeForge

Braden (he/him/his) grew up in Plainfield, Vermont and attended GIA in 2015! He is currently pursuing a BA in Studio Art and BS in Plant Biology as a rising third year student at The University of Vermont. Braden is a sculptural artist and is concentrating in handbuilding with clay. He has worked with several Vermont artists including August Burns, Carolyn Shapiro, and Betsy Brigham. His other love in this life is the natural world! He has worked with local botanist Brett Engstrom, will be working with Vermont State Botanist Bob Popp this summer and with the New England Wildflower Society as a plant conservation volunteer. Otherwise, Braden enjoys working on a blueberry farm up the road from his home, working as a design team member for the UVM Headwaters Environmental Magazine, hammocking, foraging for and identifying plants and so many other outdoor activities! Most of all, he is excited to return to GIA for two weeks and embrace the unforgettable arts community with you all!
