Rachel Ries is a rock & roll choir director, songwriter, visual artist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and longtime touring musician. She has released 3 critically-acclaimed albums and 4 EPs, including a split 7” of duets with Anaïs Mitchell: 2008’s country ep. Rachel was raised in a family of Mennonite medical missionaries and, as such, spent her formative years in Zaire and South Dakota where, yes, they had electricity and, no, she hasn’t been shunned. Rachel currently lives in Minneapolis where she is the founder and director of Kith + Kin Chorus and fronts her newest project, Her Crooked Heart. She is a 2018 Rauschenberg 3Arts Fellow.
